London time ✈

Today we will go back to my London adventure which I had a few months ago. As I said, I love traveling so whenever I have an opportunity to see a new place, I take it. I'm lucky that my friend works at the airport so when she sees great offers she always tells me about it. Of course, we usually choose flights at good prices so that they are not too expensive and on good airlines.

London is a beautiful city, but like most people have told us before it's also costly. We went there only for the weekend but we used it as much as possible. Every day we walked several kilometers, but it was worth it because we saw a lot of cool places. For these two days we rented a tiny room on the outskirts of the city, with views of typical London houses (photo below). It's good that I know Spanish, because the owner was a Portuguese and she couldn't speak English which is a bit strange. Spanish neither, but somehow we got along, haha.

The first point of sightseeing was of course the London Eye. This is a ferris wheel, also called the Millennium Wheel, located in the Lambeth district, on the south bank of the Thames. It's one of the most famous icons of the city. The wheel is 135 meters high and its full turn takes about 30 minutes. There are domes on it that can take several people allowing them to see London from a bird's eye view. We didn't take this opportunity because the queue was huge, but we managed to take a picture with it (which was very difficult in such a crowd of people).

Later we went to see the Big Ben. The name refers to both the bell, the clock and the tower itself. Interestingly, on September 12, 2012 it was officially named Elizabeth Tower to honor the 60-year reign of Elizabeth Il. Unfortunately, in August 2017, began the renovation of Big Ben and it will last 4 years, so it was impossible to see it as a building in all its splendor.

We also saw the Tower Bridge. As the name suggests, it is a bridge over the River Thames. From the beginning of its existence, it was considered a masterpiece of engineering at that time and it was compared with the famous Eiffel Tower. We went there in the evening so the atmosphere of seeing this place was amazing.

On the last day we went to visit the Buckingham Palace- the official London residence of British monarchs. We arrived there during the ceremonial change of the guard, on which many tourists came. Everyone was standing around the building and watching the event closely.

The last point of our trip was Notting Hill. One of the most popular areas of London. It is considered relatively wealthy and fashionable, known for high-class restaurants and branded stores. But not only, on the streets there are many beautiful colorful buildings where tourists love to take pictures. Many bloggers come there with bags full of clothes to take photos in several different outfits. No, I'm not kidding, I've seen it with my own eyes... Anyway, it's pretty there and the color of the houses puts tourists in a positive mood!
