Happy New Year πŸŽ‰πŸΎ

Image
Just a few days ago we were celebrating Christmas and in 2 days we have the end of the year! Seriously, I can't believe in such a fast transience of time. Sometimes it's nice to stop for a moment and pay attention to the fact that nothing will last forever and we should do our best to get the most out of our lives. And I think that the end of the year is exactly the time where we should look back, see what we have done and what we have not done, what we did well and wrong, but also what we should improve.  Many people think that all these New Year's resolutions are worth nothing and most of them give them up after some time. However, I identify with those who consider this night the beginning of something new. I don't know how exactly it works, but such an examination of conscience of what happened last year and setting new goals sets me free and adds more motivation to action. If you've never done it or still think it's silly, try it because you can really

Merry Christmas! πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

Image
We already have Christmas this week! How time flies... Throughout the year we are waiting for this magical time which we always spend in a family circle, all together at one table. Due to the fact that our family members live far away from us on a daily basis, this is the only time when we can have a laugh together or talk, so we have to take the most of it.  In Poland, Christmas Eve according to tradition begins with the appearance of the "first star in the sky". This is a reference to the Bethlehem Star heralding the birth of Jesus. The supper begins with a prayer and reading of a passage from the Bible regarding to His creation. Later everyone present breaks the wafer and makes wishes to each other. The table is always prepared for all gathered people, however, there is always one additional place setting for an unexpected guest. An important element is also the placement of 12 dishes that refers to the number of apostles, although some families say it is associated w

It's Flamenco! πŸ’ƒ

Image
With today's post we will return to Spanish culture again. Everyone has heard about Flamenco and maybe even knows something more about it. Considered to be widely as a fiery and sensual passionate national dance of Spain, equally strongly associated with this country as the brutal and controversial bullfighting- corrida (but I will write a separate post about it).  Flamenco is a cultural phenomenon related with the folklore of Andalusian Roma, including music, singing, dancing, dress and behavior. Tradition comes from Andalusia so if you want to watch a real Flamenco dance performance, it's best to go to cities such as Seville or Granada. According to the Andalusians, Flamenco songs are "the fruit and pride of this land" and the people who sing it draw energy and inspiration from everyday life. Initially there was only singing, no dancers or guitars. Other elements could be observed only at the beginning of the 19th century. El Planeta (Antonio Monje Rivero)

London time ✈

Image
Today we will go back to my London adventure which I had a few months ago. As I said, I love traveling so whenever I have an opportunity to see a new place, I take it. I'm lucky that my friend works at the airport so when she sees great offers she always tells me about it. Of course, we usually choose flights at good prices so that they are not too expensive and on good airlines.  London is a beautiful city, but like most people have told us before it's also costly. We went there only for the weekend but we used it as much as possible. Every day we walked several kilometers, but it was worth it because we saw a lot of cool places. For these two days we rented a tiny room on the outskirts of the city, with views of typical London houses (photo below). It's good that I know Spanish, because the owner was a Portuguese and she couldn't speak English which is a bit strange. Spanish neither, but somehow we got along, haha. The first point of sightseeing was of cou

Traditional spanish dishes 🍀

Image
With today's post we will move again to my beloved Spain. And more specifically to its cuisine. As you probably know, Spanish dishes are quite peculiar and are not eaten on a daily basis in other countries. The cuisine is characterized by richness, variety, simplicity and high-quality products, accompanied by one of the best wines in the world. (If you don't know yet, the Spaniards are big gourmets of all kinds of wines) Let's start with breakfasts. The Spanish people love to spend mornings with good coffee and newspaper in cafes, preferably with some nice views on such as the sea, mountains or just some streets. I don't know how they find time for it in the morning before work, but apparently they manage somehow because always all of the "cafeterΓas" are filled to the brim.  So, Spaniards usually eat breakfast sweet. The first thing that should come to our mind are of course those popular "churros con chocolate".  Churros are made from dough

Warsaw trip! πŸ™

Image
Time for my favorite post about one of my hobbies (if I can call it like that, haha). I don't know if I've already mentioned, but I love taking part in all kinds of music events. Since I remember, whenever I had the opportunity and money I went to various concerts. Initially, those that took place in my city. But over time, I started traveling all over Poland to hear my favorite artists. I never go alone, always with one of my friends, so it's a nice way to spend time with them. But it's also a great opportunity to explore the city where the event is organized and of course what I like the most- I can meet wonderful people. Of my group of friends I'm usually the one who wants to go to a concert and organize the whole trip. This time was different! One day a friend who I study with wrote to me and asked if I would like to go to Warsaw with her because Kelvin Jones will be playing there. I was a bit confused because I didn't know who he was and I had never hear

My favorite Netflix series πŸ“Ί

Image
So today I will share with you my favorite series that you can find on Netflix. To be honest, I haven't seen much yet, while I'm studying and working I don't have much time to watch. But if I only find a moment and I want to relax and rest, I go to bed and turn on Netflix! If you don't know what platform this is, you have to check it out. You can find a lot of movies and series there that are normally hard to find on the internet. What's more, you can always choose the language in which you want to watch and read subtitles. So you can combine business with pleasure. While you are chilling you can also get some new words and interesting expressions. So if you don't have a Netflix account yet, create one!  So the first series and the best that anyone could ever create is of course La casa de papel . At the beginning, I wasn't convinced about it, because the subject matter itself didn't make me feel like watching. But everyone was delighted with it

A city full of beautiful places- Barcelona🌴

Image
Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to. Walking her streets and visiting its various corners always gave me a lot of joy and pleasure. I have been there more than 5 times and I still claim that it was too little to see all the beautiful spots there. But in this post I will only show you the parts where I had the opportunity to be. Let's get started! You probably already guess what was the first point of sightseeing. Of course, the S agrad a Familia which is an Art Nouveau church. The construction of the temple began in 1882. Initially, its project was carried out by one architect, but unfortunately as it turned out later he came into conflict with the association financing this construction. So Antoni GaudΓ was commissioned to finish the temple, but he was the one that completely changed its design, giving it his own style. Over the next four decades, he worked intensively on the structure, devoting it entirely to his last 15 years of life. S

A day without music is a day wasted ♫♪

Image
Music, music, music... What would our life be like without her? For me personally, it is of great importance. I can't imagine a day without listening to my favorite songs and artists. Music is present in every possible moment of my functioning. From early morning, when I get up and prepare myself for classes, by traveling by train to PoznaΕ„, until the evening when I go to sleep and I have a few minutes to myself. Listening to music helps me a lot when I'm in a bad mood, and switching on a favorite song immediately makes me smile. Also, when I find myself in stressful situations where I can't calm down, the songs make me feel better. It also soothe my anger when I'm so pissed off that I don't want to talk to anyone and listening to them takes me to another world where there is nothing but me and my melodies. Even scientific research shows that our life without music would probably be shorter and less happy. They prove that it reduces stress and improves our

It's Halloween time! 🎭

Image
Halloween is one of the most popular holidays celebrated not only in Poland but all over the world. Although it is considered a pagan festival and criticized by the Catholic church, its observance has become part of many cultures. For children it's the most anticipated day of the year. It's a chance for them to dress up as their favorite characters from cartoons and films. And we can say that not only for children because some adults also love to celebrate this day. Sometimes even more than kids. They spend a lot of time looking for costumes and doing makeup for the party.  Halloween celebrations precede the festival of the dead. The last day of October is used as an opportunity to have fun. Many traditions are associated with the celebration of this day. One of them is organizing huge events in clubs and discos. The busiest parties on this occasion are held in Great Britain, Ireland and the United States. In many cities abroad are organized colorful processions along

My dear love... Spain ❣ 🏝

Image
With all my heart I would like to devote this post to my recent trip to Spain. As I've already mentioned in the previous post, Spain is something special for me and I will never stop admiring it. I was also there last year, but this year I felt and discovered my true love for this country. I have spent there 3 months and I can say that it was the best time in my life. I am not sure if one post will be enough to describe and express my gratitude for the opportunity to be there and to experience these priceless moments. But let me try... I'll start from the beginning. So I went to Spain to do internship, I didn't need it to finish my studies, because I already had them, but it was the last chance to use the Erasmus program. My friend and I had a few cities to choose from the coast of Costa Brava. Last year we decided on Calella, this time it was Platja d'Aro. And it was the best decision we could make. This city is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen with my

Let me introduce myself πŸ™‹‍♀️

Hello everyone. At the beginning it would be appropriate to tell you who I am and what I am doing here. So... My name is Klaudia. Writing a blog has always been my dream. In the past I had a lot of them, unfortunately the regularity of adding posts was not my strong point. But this time I will do my best to make it different. I would like this blog to be a kind of diary, but also a reflection of myself, i.e. who I am, what I like and what I am interested in. I am quite a young person because I am under 22 years old. I have experienced quite a lot, but I also know that there is still a lot ahead of me.  That's me! Spain is my biggest love. I've been studying Spanish for 4 years and I fall in love with it every day. This language sounds so beautiful. When it comes to learning sometimes it causes me many difficulties, but it is always worth my effort! This huge love for Spain has made me a student of Spanish philology. I attend classes in PoznaΕ„, at Ad
