Tiny toones! 🤸

Last week I heard for the first time about the cool project "El sistema" in Venezuela, which aims to promote human opportunity and development for impoverished children. Today, watching TV, I found out about another great project, maybe less known, but also helping a large number of community. Its name is Tiny Toones which uses break-dance and the culture of hip-hop to engage, inspire and educate young people from some of Cambodia's most impoverished neighbourhoods.

Interesting is also the story of the founder of this project- Tuy Sobil (aka "KK") born in Thai refugee camps. He grew up in Los Angeles, where he joined the gang and was later sentenced to several years in prison for armed robbery. After serving his sentence, he was deported to a completely unknown place- Cambodia. This place completely changed his life and made him become a completely different person.

The project involves kids and encourages them to attend its dance classes. However, there are certain conditions, anyone who wants to dance with them must go to school and can't belong to any of the criminal groups or junkies. Tuy says that it's the perfect way to reduce the number of young drug users and the number of gangs. The project not only helps to minimize crime and drug abuse, but also gives the opportunity to develop and improve children's quality of life. You have to check it!
